The Czech Young Legal Theorists (CYLT) is an emerging association founded by a group of dedicated students and researchers committed to advancing legal theory in Czechia. Our mission is to create an inclusive, collaborative, and internationally engaged academic community for young legal scholars. We aim to support the academic growth of our members by providing opportunities for interdisciplinary research, international networking, and professional development.
CYLT offers a platform for junior researchers to present their work, receive (& engage in) peer review, and collaborate across faculties. We also focus on organizing international workshops, conferences, and special events to connect Czech legal theory with global scholarship. Dedicated to social responsibility, CYLT aims to provide particular support for students from disadvantaged groups and regions, helping to cultivate a legal academia that is both excellent and accessible.
A pilot event, that we co-organized was the international PhD workshop in Brno (29.11.). It brought together students from the UK, Poland, Germany, Austria, and Czechia. For details, see Events section.
We also organize our reccuring Jurisprudential Cocktails, where we debate papers about legal theory in an informal setting.
